Web Development
Web Development at Keroberos covers the full build, from custom applications and CMS platforms to headless architectures, on the technology best suited to your project, not the agency.
We build websites and web applications on the technology best suited to your project. Not the platform we know best, not the stack we default to: the right tool for the problem in front of us.
Our work spans custom web applications, API-driven platforms, CMS-backed websites, headless architectures, and complex migrations. We select the approach based on your requirements, your team structure, and the long-term cost of ownership.
Custom web applications and API-driven platforms
Not every project fits a CMS. When the requirements involve complex business logic, custom data models, or integrations with third-party systems, we build purpose-built web applications. We scope the architecture to match the problem rather than adapting an existing platform to fit a need it was not designed for. The result is a codebase that is easier to maintain, cheaper to evolve, and owned entirely by your team.
We also build API-driven platforms where the backend exposes structured data to one or more frontends, whether that is a web application, a mobile client, or a third-party integration. If your project requires a custom architecture rather than an off-the-shelf solution, this is where we spend a significant part of our work.
Websites and content platforms
For brochure sites, corporate websites, and editorial platforms, we develop on Drupal and WordPress, used as both traditional CMS platforms and headless content layers. For projects requiring complex content models, regulated environments, or large-scale multisite architecture, Drupal is typically the right fit. For content sites, blogs, and editorial platforms, WordPress is often the faster and more cost-effective choice.
We have also delivered e-commerce integrations for clients whose projects required transactional capabilities alongside content management.
Headless and decoupled architectures
When editorial and delivery need to work independently, a decoupled architecture separates the CMS from the frontend. Content is managed in the CMS and delivered to any frontend or channel via an API, without the two being tightly coupled. We build headless systems using Drupal or WordPress as the content layer, each exposing structured content through their respective APIs, paired with a Next.js, Nuxt, or custom frontend. This approach improves performance, simplifies frontend iteration, and reduces the dependency between content publishing and frontend deployments.
Multilingual websites
Multilingual support is part of our core expertise, on projects of any scale, from a small brochure site serving two markets to a large platform spanning multiple languages, regions, and editorial teams.
We handle every layer: content model, URL structure, hreflang, CMS translation workflows, and third-party translation integrations where needed. The architecture is designed so editors can work independently, without developer involvement for day-to-day translation tasks.
Multilingual is built into the project from the start, not retrofitted at the end. Getting the structure right early is what avoids the costly rework that comes from treating it as an afterthought.
SEO and discoverability
A website that does not get found does not deliver value. We build with performance and discoverability in mind from the start: clean URL structures, semantic markup, fast load times, and content architecture that works for both search engines and AI tools. As search behavior evolves and AI-generated answers become a primary entry point for many queries, the way a site is structured and how its content is written matters more than ever. We covered this in detail in our guide on SEO and GEO for web projects.
How we work
Every project starts with a scoping phase: we review your requirements, ask the questions that surface unstated constraints, and recommend a stack and approach before any development begins. From there, work is structured around defined milestones with regular check-ins and staged deliveries. You have visibility at every stage, and the final delivery includes documented code, a handover session, and everything your team needs to take ownership of the work.
What we deliver
We have delivered projects on Drupal 8 through Drupal 11, WordPress, headless architectures, and custom web applications, in sectors including higher education, public sector, media, and enterprise.
We do not subcontract. The developers who scope your project are the developers who build it. Every engagement ends with documented, maintainable code and a full handover, whether you continue with us or take the work in-house.
If you are not sure where to start, our consulting and advisory service is the right first step. And if you are ready to move forward, get in touch.
